Guided Wave Inspection
Guided Wave Testing is a non-destructive method for assessing the condition of elongated structures, primarily pipelines. By attaching a ring of transducers around the pipe’s circumference, acoustic waves are generated that propagate along the pipe, detecting defects such as corrosion, erosion, or cracks. This technique allows for the inspection of extensive lengths of pipe from a single location, providing efficient and thorough evaluations.
Non- Destructive Testing (NDT)
QSR1® Scanner
The QSR1® device utilizes Quantitative Short Range (QSR) Technology to measure remaining wall thickness in pipelines, particularly in areas susceptible to corrosion under pipe supports. It operates by moving axially along the pipe, sending guided waves circumferentially to generate a thickness profile of the area of interest. Features of the QSR1® include a lightweight design, removable battery, robust construction, high-speed data acquisition, a 7” LCD touch screen, semi-automated scanning, and an extended frequency range.
Axial QSR® Scanner
The Axial QSR® extends the capabilities of the QSR1® by allowing inspections in confined spaces near pipe supports and within pipe racks. This low-profile scanner moves circumferentially around the pipe, sending guided waves axially along its length. It is designed to fit snugly into tight spaces, facilitating comprehensive inspections in challenging environments.
gPIMS® Sensors
The gPIMS® (Guided Wave Permanently Installed Monitoring Sensors) are robust sensors designed for permanent installation on pipes. They provide both local thickness monitoring and large-area guided wave monitoring data. Once installed, gPIMS® sensors can be connected to automated monitoring systems, enabling real-time data collection and analysis, which is crucial for proactive integrity management.
